Alabama State Requirement Detail for Real Estate Continuing Education

The CE Shop is an approved real estate CE School in Alabama: License Number: 96000

License Renewal Date: 8/31 every even-numbered year

CE Due Date: 9/30 every even-numbered year

Hours required: 15 hours

  • 6 required hours*
  • 9 elective hours

*The following licensees will not be required to take the Risk Management courses for license renewal:

  • A licensee who has completed the 60-hour Broker Pre-Licensing course during the current license period. This is true even if the licensee has not submitted the broker application. The Broker Pre-Licensing course will satisfy all CE requirements
  • A licensee who will have the first renewal of his/her Original License this year. The 30-hour Post-Licensing course will satisfy all CE requirements.
  • Any licensee who completed the 30-hour Post-Licensing course for CE hours. No Risk Management courses are required for someone who completes the 30-hour Post-Licensing course for CE. The 30-hour Post-Licensing course will satisfy all CE requirements.
  • A reciprocal licensee who was licensed prior to October 1, 2015 and can show proof of holding an active license in the state of original licensure. This documentation will satisfy all CE requirements.
  • A reciprocal licensee who was licensed on or after October 1, 2015. This is true regardless of the license status in the original state.

The CE Shop's Offering: 15 hours 

Reporting: Real estate course completions are reported to the Alabama Real Estate Commission. The state requires schools to report course completions within seven to ten days from the course completion date. Course completions will be reported within this time frame. 

Expiration date of course: Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally one year after order date. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account. 

Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your Certificates of Completion will reflect this.
